Example: A student who took a particular exam in 2022 may use it for applications up to 2026.

Whenever exams are used in applications submitted in years after the year in which they were taken, the applicant must request an updated ENES form for the application year from the secondary school where they sat the national final exams.

Scholarships

When studying at EUVG, you can access the following Scholarship Program:

1. EUVG internal scholarships, intended for:

1. Rewarding academic merit (Thomas Baillon Scholarships)

EUVG encourages its students to raise their level of knowledge and achievement in higher education, which is why Merit Scholarships are awarded annually to students in accordance with the rules set out in the Regulations on the Payment of Educational Services Provided by EUVG.

The scholarships are determined internally and approved by the ACVG Board, and no application is required.

In 2022, the EUVG Merit Scholarship was named “Thomas Baillon” in honor of a student who died that year, perpetuating the memory of his resilience, academic career, and way of facing adversity.

For more information, see Annex 1 – Regulations on Payment for Educational Services Provided by EUVG for the Awarding of Merit Scholarships – 2025/2026

2.Encourage part-time participation in institutional activities (EUVG Collaboration Grants)

The Collaboration Grant (BC) is a measure fully funded by ACVG that aims to encourage students to actively participate in institutional dynamics, allowing them to carry out part-time activities, on or off campus, with educational and social impact.

EUVG has always sought to provide opportunities for its students to participate, and the activities they carry out under the collaboration grant scheme are assigned a value, which is deducted from their monthly tuition fees and/or other fees, as defined in the EUVG Collaboration Grant Regulations.

The selection, analysis, and validation of applications is carried out through GAPS, in accordance with opportunities announced throughout each academic year by means of a public notice and with a minimum of 30 days’ prior notice.

For further information, please contact: gaps@euvg.pt

2. Scholarships awarded by DGES

1.Social Action Scholarships (for Study)

EUVG students can apply for DGES social action scholarships, which aim to ensure a minimum adequate level of annual financial resources for higher education students, particularly those with proven financial need.

The analysis of scholarship applications from EUVG students is managed through GAPS, as established in the Regulations for the Award of Scholarships to Higher Education Students (RABEEES).

These scholarships consist of an annual cash payment to help cover the costs of attending bachelor’s or master’s degree courses and completing a compulsory professional internship for displaced students.

Applications for DGES scholarships are made annually and exclusively on the BeOn Platform. For information about these scholarships, including the status of your scholarship application, please consult the DGES BeOn Platform.

Any student wishing to apply for this support should consider the following:

A – Students who have changed institution/course (requested a “transfer”)

You must inform Academic Services that you are coming from another higher education institution so that the individual process can be requested from your institution of origin.

B – Students who have applied to Public Higher Education:
If you have applied to Public Higher Education (even in previous years), you will have been sent the access codes for the Be-On application platform. You must access the platform and submit your application with the details originally provided to you. If you have lost your access details, you must request their recovery on the same platform.

IMPORTANT NOTE: When enrolling at EUVG, applicants must send an email to gaps@euvg.pt, stating that they have applied for a social action scholarship. The email must include your tax identification number, your enrolment date and the study programme you are enrolled in. Only with this information can EUVG acknowledge your application and request its transfer for further analysis.

Use of foreign examinations as entrance exams

Applicants who have completed a foreign secondary school qualification may use the higher education entrance examinations from their country of origin to gain admission to courses taught at EUVG.
If no entrance examinations exist in the country of origin, these may be replaced by that country’s secondary school leaving examinations.
The following conditions must be met:

  • The applicant must not hold a Portuguese secondary school qualification;
  • The examinations taken must be at national level;
  • The examinations taken must relate to subjects equivalent to those in the Portuguese entrance examinations.

In accordance with the above, acceptance at EUVG of holders of foreign secondary school qualifications covers:

  • All final examinations in the terminal subjects of secondary education; foreign subjects corresponding to the entrance examinations required of candidates holding Portuguese secondary school qualifications; foreign secondary school qualifications equivalent to a Portuguese secondary school qualification. (This applies to all courses taught at EUVG.)

For the purposes of using foreign secondary-level examinations, candidates must submit the following documents when applying for enrolment and registration at EUVG:

  • An application, to be made using a form whose template is to be determined by the Director-General for Higher Education, requesting the application of the scheme set out in Article 20A, specifying the institution/course combinations and entrance examinations to be covered by such a request (as provided in the GAES, the authority legally competent to grant equivalence is the Equivalence Service of the Ministry of Education);
  • Document proving completion of the non-Portuguese secondary education course, indicating: the final course grade and the marks obtained in the examinations for the subjects intended to replace the entrance examinations;
  • Document proving the equivalence of the course referred to in the previous point to a Portuguese secondary school course, issued by the authority legally competent to grant equivalence, including the final course grade on a scale of 0 to 200 points.

It should be noted that the validity period for national examinations taken within the foreign secondary education system is the same as that set for national secondary education examinations; that is, they are valid in the year they are taken and for the following 4 years.
For further information, please consult the Directorate-General for Portuguese Higher Education via this link.
