Enrolment is done at Inforestudante

All students selected for Erasmus Mobility are entitled to a grant under this programme. However, according to the ranking of candidates (criteria set out in the Regulations), grants are awarded in order of type, duration and destination of mobility, until the budget made available by the National Erasmus+ Agency of Portugal to EUVG is exhausted.

The grant is intended to cover the difference between the standard of living in the country of origin and the host country.

The Erasmus grant is a contribution to support the cost of living abroad. Check HERE for the reference values for Erasmus Grants.

If the student is selected to receive an Erasmus grant, the grant will be paid in two instalments: the first (70%) after receipt of the entry document and the second (30%) at the end of the mobility period, after all procedures have been completed.

No. Tuition fees continue to be paid at EUVG. You can request a discount on tuition fees during the mobility period. See HERE – Annex 1: Social and Financial Support Measures, incentives for merit and mobility (measure 5).

Yes, recognition is always full, either in the Qualifications Certificate or in the Diploma Supplement. After the application phase, you will fill in the Learning Agreement or Training Agreement, which establishes the commitment to the skills to be achieved and recognised after successful completion, between the three parties (Student, EUVG and Host Entity). More information HERE.

Some institutions require a certain level of proficiency in the language of instruction. You should consult the website of the institution where you intend to study and check the language skills required.

We also advise you to take the free OLS (Online Linguistic Support Test– escolha a língua e realize o Placement Test)

Students are responsible for arranging their own accommodation. To do so, they should contact the host institution and find out what procedure to follow. If the host institution does not offer accommodation or if you do not wish to stay in that type of accommodation, ESN – Erasmus Student Network https://www.esn.org/ can help you find alternatives

You can always send an email to soc_erasmus@euvg.pt or schedule an in-person visit to the Erasmus Office – schedule HERE.

MobiliTree

With MobiliTree, we want to promote cooperation and a sense of a united Europe, as well as raise awareness of the ecological footprint of student mobility and encourage carbon offsetting practices.

Students arriving at EUVG and those leaving EUVG will plant a native species on our campus before their departure. These plants will be mapped and labelled with the student’s name and nationality on the “Erasmus Ecosystem Map”

Who can apply as an International Student?

Students who, cumulatively:

  • Do not hold Portuguese nationality, except for nationals of a Member State of the European Union (EU);
  • Are family members of Portuguese citizens* or of nationals of a Member State of the EU, regardless of their own nationality;
  • Not being nationals of a Member State of the EU, have been legally resident** in Portugal for more than two years, uninterruptedly, as of 1 January of the year in which they intend to enter higher education, as well as their children who reside with them, noting that residence for study purposes does not count for this purpose;
  • Are beneficiaries, as of 1 January of the year in which they intend to enter higher education, of a status of equal rights and duties granted under an international treaty concluded between the Portuguese State and the State of which they are nationals;
  • Apply for admission to higher education through special admission schemes.

And hold:

  • A qualification granting access to higher education, understood as any diploma or certificate issued by a competent authority attesting successful completion of a programme of study and conferring the right to apply for and enter higher education in the country in which it was awarded; or
  • A Portuguese secondary education diploma or a legally equivalent qualification.

* “Family members of Portuguese citizens or nationals of a Member State of the EU”, regardless of their nationality, are understood to mean:

  • The spouse of a Union citizen;
  • The partner with whom a Union citizen lives in a legally recognised de facto union, or with whom the Union citizen maintains a duly certified permanent relationship, recognised by the competent authority of the Member State where they reside;
  • A direct descendant under the age of 21 or who is dependent on a Union citizen, as well as that of the spouse or partner as defined above;
  • A direct ascendant who is dependent on a Union citizen, as well as that of the spouse or partner as defined above.

** “Legally resident” means a foreign national holding a residence permit in Portugal valid for one year or more, in accordance with subparagraph (v) of Article 3 of Law No. 23/2007 of 4 July, as amended, which establishes the legal framework governing the entry, stay, exit and removal of foreign nationals from the national territory.

Entry requirements

To enter EUVG under this scheme, candidates must meet the specific academic qualification required for entry into the relevant cycle of studies, as well as demonstrate knowledge of the language in which the course will be taught.

Thus, for candidates holding a Portuguese secondary education diploma or an equivalent qualification, both conditions are assessed through the admission exams established for the relevant cycle of studies under the general access and admission system.
