Feline Medicine has therefore become essential for the health and well being of cats, which often present symptoms and clinical characteristics that differ significantly from those of dogs.

Early detection of conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and renal disease can be the key to successful treatment and the patient’s overall longevity.

Ana Jacinto
DVM, Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Internal Medicine Degree in Veterinary Medicine from UTAD. After a few years of clinical practice in Portugal, Ana completed an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at the University of Cambridge (UK). In 2012, she completed a residency in Companion Animal Internal Medicine (ECVIM-CA) at the University of Edinburgh (UK), where she remained as a temporary lecturerShe taught in the Integrated Master's in Veterinary Medicine at the University of Évora, Lusófona University of Humanities and Technologies, and the Abel Salazar Institute of Biomedical SciencesUniversity of Porto. She worked in the internal medicine services at the “Centre Hospitalier Vétérinaire Frégis” in Paris (France) and at the referral veterinary hospital “Davies Veterinary Specialists” (UK). She collaborates with Improve International as a trainer in the area of small animal Internal Medicine. Ana is an internal medicine consultant at IDEXX LaboratoriesShe holds the title of specialist in Internal Medicine from the European College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (DipECVIM-CA) and from the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS Specialist title in Small Animal Medicine (Internal Medicine)). She currently works as a specialist veterinarian in Internal Medicine at IVC-Evidensia - Hospital Veterinário do Bom Jesus, Braga. 
Benoît Cuq
DVM, PhD, Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine After a one-year Clinical Pathology specialty internship in Toulouse, he moved to Canada, initially as a rotating intern at the Université de Montréal, then as a rotating intern at the Ontario Veterinary CollegeSubsequentlyhe completed a Residency in Small Animal Internal Medicine (2014-2017) and a PhD in Pathobiology (2016-2021) at the Ontario Veterinary CollegeDoctor Benoît obtained his American Diploma in Small Animal Veterinary Internal Medicine (Dipl. ACVIM-SAIM) in 2018. Veterinary Council of Ireland (VCI) and recognized specialist in small animal internal medicine. He has worked as a clinician in Small Animal Internal Medicine at the Ontario Veterinary College and the Université de Montréal, as well as in private practices in OntarioQuebecand EnglandHe was appointed Assistant Professor in September 2019. His areas of interest include hematological and immune-mediated disordersbone marrow diseases, as well as urology/nephrology and interventional radiology in companion animals. 
Carolina Albuquerque
DVM, MScDiplomate of the European College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ECVIM-CA) Completed her Master’s in Veterinary Medicine at FMV in 2010. After working for several years in general practice, she completed two postgraduate degrees in Internal Medicine, an internship at the University of Glasgow, and a residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Edinburgh. She is a specialist by the European College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ECVIM-CA). Her greatest pride is her volunteer work promoting animal adoption and the NGO she founded, Ohana Animal Charity, which organizes courses for veterinarians, nurses, and students worldwide and donates 100% of its profits to help animals.

In 2019, he conducted oncology consultations at OneVet Hospital Veterinário Berna in Lisbon. PhD in Veterinary Sciences from the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro in 2022, with a research project in the field of feline mammary cancer. He is the author of several national and international publications in the field of Oncology. Assistant Professor at Escola Universitária Vasco da Gama in Coimbra since 2021, teaching the Companion Animal Clinic curricular units.
DVM Diplomate ACVIM (Specialties of Internal Medicine, Oncology), ECVIM-CA (Oncology), California Veterinary Specialists Angel Care Cancer Center Full professor and program director at the University of California San Diego and director of the Angel Care Cancer Center at California Veterinary Specialists. There, he cares for kitties, their families while teaching interns, residents, and veterinary students about the magic of all things feline. As a professor, clinician and teacher, Greg is actively discovering and developing new ways to enhance and improve quality of life of kitties, especially those with cancer. Prior to his move to Southern California, Greg was a full tenured professor, internist, head of medical oncology and director of the Medical Oncology Research Laboratory, Animal Cancer Center at Colorado State University and at a medical school at the Université François Rabelais in Tours France from 1987 until 2003. Dr. Ogilvie lectures to thousands of veterinary students, physicians, graduate veterinarians and scientists each year including at several universities. He received his DVM from Colorado State University and was in private practice in Connecticut before completing a residency at Tufts University/Angell Memorial Animal Hospital.

Mónica Augusto
DVM, Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Internal Medicine  After a few years in small animal general practiceshe completed a one-year rotating internship at the R(D)SVS, University of Edinburgh in 2004, followed by a residency in Companion Animal Internal Medicine at GUVS, University of Glasgow, in 2009. After a short period at the University of Liverpool (Oncology service), she worked in a private referral hospital in Winchester, UK, for several years before moving back to academia, first as a Staff Clinician at the RVC, London, and since September 2017 as a Lecturer/Assistant teacher in Small Animal Medicine at University College Dublin, IrelandShe obtained the European Diploma in Small Animal Veterinary Internal Medicine in 2014. She is a recognized specialist by the European Board of Veterinary Specialization (EBVS), the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS), and the Veterinary Council of Ireland (VCI). She holds a Master’s in Clinical Oncology from the University of Birmingham, UK, and a postgraduate degree in Higher Education from UCD, IrelandHer areas of interest include hematologyoncology (particularly hemato-oncological diseases), endocrinologyand feline gastroenterology.
