Professor Diana Valente appointed to the Advisory Council on the Digitalisation of Agriculture

Professor Diana Valente has joined the Advisory Council for the Promotion of Digitalisation in Agriculture (CCDA), a strategic advisory body focused on technological transition and sustainability within the national agricultural sector.

The change in the council’s composition was formalised recently, strengthening the link between academia, scientific research and public innovation policies. The CCDA’s mission is to monitor and propose initiatives for the modernisation of the sector, bringing together various experts and leading institutions.

The professor, who sits on the EUVG Board of Directors, also holds leadership roles within the Portuguese Veterinary Medical Association and on the Board of the Association of Young Farmers of Portugal (AJAP). On the scientific front, she is a researcher at CIVG and CECAV, focusing on areas such as scientific and technological innovation in livestock production and sustainability.

Commenting on this appointment, Professor Diana Valente emphasises:

“It is an honour to join this Advisory Board and to be able to contribute to the digital transformation of Portuguese agriculture. Innovation, knowledge and training will be fundamental pillars for building a more competitive, sustainable and future-focused agricultural sector.”
