On 5 February 2026, the Escola Universitária Vasco da Gama (EUVG) formalised a new cooperation agreement with the Coimbra Business School – Instituto Superior de Contabilidade e Administração de Coimbra (ISCAC) to launch an innovative Postgraduate Programme in Veterinary Management at the EUVG campus in Coimbra.
The agreement was signed by the President of EUVG, Prof. Dr. Ferdinando Bernardino de Freitas, the President of ISCAC, Prof. Dr. Alexandre Miguel Fernandes Gomes da Silva, and Dr. António Pereira, President of the Association that founded EUVG. This new initiative reinforces a strategic collaboration between the two higher education institutions that has been in place since 2012 and responds to the growing need for advanced professional training in the veterinary sector.
The postgraduate programme is designed to equip professionals with essential management competencies to optimise resources and enhance the quality of services in veterinary practice and related organisations. Veterinary management is increasingly recognised as a key factor for the sustainability of clinical centres, livestock operations and public health programmes.
Structured in modular format and delivered 100 % online, the programme covers a broad range of subjects, including business strategy, finance, taxation, marketing, human resources management, digital innovation and cybersecurity. The flexible online delivery allows participants to balance study with professional commitments.
The course is open to a diverse professional audience, including veterinarians, veterinary nurses, managers, economists, animal science engineers, and other professionals from related fields such as biomedical sciences and marketing. Candidacies for the postgraduate programme will open soon through the official channels of both EUVG and ISCAC, with a minimum number of participants required for the course to run.
